Luxury Banyan Tree resort coming to the Bahamas

Asia based luxury brand Banyan Tree is checking in to the Bahamas.

It has teamed up with Island Developers for a new eco oceanfront resort featuring 50 units and 54 luxury residences.

It is bringing a touch of Maldives style to the Bahamas with overwater bungalows as well as the brand's signature suites with plunge pools.

Architect Chad Oppenheim has been tasked with the design.

Banyan Tree illa Bahamas will feature culinary pop-ups, curated music series and a signature spa.

It is located just 48 nautical miles and a 20-minute seaplane flight from Miami.

"This represents our group's continued strategic intent to expand into the Americas," the company said.

The Banyan Tree Group's portfolio now spans 24 countries with nearly 50 hotels and resorts.
