SpiceJet launching 20 new flights

India budget carrier SpiceJet is launching 20 new flights starting next month, expanding connectivity to underserved regional destinations.

Starting on March 29, it will operate the flights under the Regional Connectivity Scheme.

It includes flights linking Hyderabad and Mangaluru, Bengaluru-Jabalpur and Mumbai-Aurangabad.

The new services operate daily on Boeing 737 or Bombardier Q400 aircraft.

"As we add newer cities to our network, our focus remains firmly on connecting the unconnected parts of the country besides enhancing connectivity between metros and non-metros," SpiceJet chief commercial officer Shilpa Bhatia said.

Once the services start, SpiceJet will operate 52 flights to 12 cities under the Regional Connectivity Scheme.

The airline said it will also add capacity on the Mumbai-Bagdogra and Mumbai-Chennai routes with an extra daily service per day.
