Eurostar and MAG passengers required to wear face masks

Travellers using Manchester Airports Group terminals and Eurostar trains will be required to wear face masks from this week.

MAG, which operates Manchester, East Midlands and Stansted airports, said all passengers will be required to wear gloves and face coverings. Scarves and other makeshift measures are acceptable.

Manchester Airport said it will provide protective equipment for those without, but as numbers rise, all passengers will be expected to provide their own.

Eurostar passengers will be required to cover their faces from today (Monday May 4) or risk being refused travel.

The rail company said the rule for travellers to wear face coverings is in line with guidelines from the French and Belgian governments.

Any type of face covering is allowed 'as long as it effectively covers your nose and mouth', the company said.
