Korean Air resuming more international flights

Korean Air will restart some more international flights from June 1, including key long haul routes to North America and Europe.

Operations will resume to Washington DC, Seattle, Vancouver, Canada and Toronto, and it will ramp up frequencies to Paris and London.

The Amsterdam and Frankfurt routes will also restart.

The airline will operate about a quarter of its more than 100 international routes come June, with some increased frequencies on existing services, such as San Francisco, Atlanta and Chicago.

Resumption of flights in Southeast Asia will also be stepped up with Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur back on the route network.

South Korea has more than 10,000 confirmed cases with the vast majority having recovered.

It has recorded 256 deaths so far.

The country has been praised for its pro-active 'track and trace' Covid-19 containment efforts although there are fears of a new wave of infections after a cluster of cases was detected in Seoul late last week.
