Universal Orlando opens some resort hotels

Ahead of its theme park reopening this week, Universal Orlando today opens the doors to some hotels.

The phased reopening includes Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Aventura Hotel and Universal's Endless Summer Resort - Surfside Inn and Suites.

In addition, the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, and Loews Sapphire Falls Resort will also reopen.

Guests booked at these hotels will get an extra perk - early access to the theme parks on June 3 and 4 before the official public reopening of all three parks on June 5.

Universal has announced enhanced health and safety measures for park guests which range from temperature screening on arrival, mandatory face coverings and limited capacity in F&B venues.

It is imposing similar rules specifically for hotel guests which includes face mask wearing when in public areas of the hotels.

On Monday Legoland reopened to the public, becoming the first major theme park to welcome guests again.

SeaWorld resumes operations next week and Walt Disney World is reopening in July.
