Cyprus to extend ban on UK tourists

Cyprus has become the latest country to exclude Britons from the first wave of tourists allowed to return to the holiday destination.

From June 9, it will allow tourists from a limited number of countries, but not the UK.

Passengers who have been in the UK in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter Cyprus, even via a third country, until further notice.

"We expect this to be reviewed in the coming weeks," said the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office.

From 8 June, foreign nationals with permanent residency, work or student permits will be permitted to enter the north of Cyprus, but not holidaymakers.
