Jetstar to restart domestic New Zealand flights

Budget airline Jetstar will restart domestic services in New Zealand from July 1.

It aims to resume 75 return flights a week to five destinations, representing about 60% of its normal domestic schedule.

Jetstar said it will take a close look at demand and booking levels and add more flights if needed over the coming weeks.

"With a move to Level one restrictions across New Zealand, Jetstar is well and truly ready to take off. We're looking forward to bringing family and friends together and helping to boost local tourism," said Jetstar CEO Gareth Evans.

From Auckland, Jetstar will fly to Christchurch, Dunedin, Wellington and Queenstown with fares starting at $21.

It will also offer seven weekly flights from Christchurch to Wellington.

Jetstar is implementing Qantas Group's 'Fly Well' anti Covid-19 program with contactless check-in, upgraded cleaning, and masks and wipes given to all passengers.
