Spain unveils responsible tourism seal and welcome back video

Spain has created a responsible tourism seal for businesses that follow official guides approved by the country's Ministry of Health for reducing the spread of Covid-19 in the tourism sector.

The seal is personal and non-transferable and must be renewed every year.

Spain's Secretary of State for Tourism, Isabel Oliver said:  "Offering trust and safety is crucial at this time to attract both national and international tourists once more. This seal is one more element in our strategy to reposition ourselves as a safe tourism destination worldwide. In addition, it serves to recognise the responsibility of those that make an effort to create a safe environment in their respective businesses not only for tourists but also for their own workers and residents".

The guides for reducing the spread of the coronavirus in the tourism sector were drawn up in close collaboration with the sector, social partners and Spain's regions and are validated by Spain's Ministry of Health. They will serve as a reference for the creation of standards on a global level, following an agreement adopted within the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

Meanwhile, a short video that showcases scenes from around the country has also been launched to welcome back Brits.

Focusing on the weather, food, culture, history, nature and landscapes, hospitality, shopping, sport, quality and infrastructure, the video features some of Spain's favourite locations which helped attract over 83 million visitors in 2019.
