Disney worker charged with fraud

A former Disney employee has been charged with six-figure fraud.

Jennifer Alejandra Insuasti, 32, of Kissimmee is facing a charge of grand theft of $100,000 or more.

She worked as a guest experience services coordinator at Disney responsible for resolving complaints often by issuing refunds, vouchers or free stays.

Disney identified 45 fraudulent refunds issued by Insuasti reportedly totalling about $160,000.

She turned herself in this week.

Investigators said Insuasti would routinely issue refunds that were paid directly into her own bank account, or accounts of her friends and family.

"Agents found that, on numerous occasions, using old refund accounts as a cover, she misdirected money into her personal account or the accounts of her friends," the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.

Fraudulent transactions took place between March 2016 and July 2018.

The charge Insuasti is facing is a first-degree felony which could result in a 30-year sentence.
