Cruise lines extend Australia cancellations

Carnival Australia has extended cruise cancellations of Carnival and P&O sailings.

Previously paused through 29 October, cruises are now cancelled until at least 2 December 2020.

It affects sailings on Carnival Spirit and Carnival Splendor.

The extended pause is a result of Australia's ongoing travel restrictions

Carnival will resume only when the time is right in cooperation with government agencies, public health authorities and the reopening of local ports of call.

"Carnival appreciates the understanding and support of our guests and travel agent partners and looks forward to warmly welcoming our guests back on board as soon as possible," the company said.

Australia has banned vessels carrying more than 100 people operating in Australian waters  until at least 17 September.

Royal Caribbean International has extended its cruise cancellations until 31 October.

"The health and safety of our guests, crew, and the communities we visit is our top priority," the line said.
