Singapore taps Klook to boost more domestic trips

Singapore is teaming up with fast-growing tours and activities platform Klook to drive domestic tourism.

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced a $1.5 million joint marketing initiative with Klook which forms part of STB's SingapoRediscovers campaign launched in the summer.

The partnership hopes to boost tourism related spending through content development and digital marketing offering curated promotions for experiences.

It is tapping hotels, attractions, tour operators and restaurants to develop new products and offers which will be bundled as staycation packages.

"We look forward to leveraging Klook's digital marketing capabilities and extensive network of partners to amplify our efforts, as well as encouraging their users to support curated local experiences," said Lynette Pang, Assistant Chief Executive of Marketing at STB.

The partnership lasts an initial seven months and starts in September.

Klook says it currently offers about 600 local activities in Singapore.
