Park MGM reopening as first Las Vegas smoke-free casino

MGM Resorts International is reopening Park MGM and NoMad Las Vegas at the end of the month.

It is the company's last property to open since the pandemic but will become Las Vegas Strip's first completely smoke-free casino resort.

The company says it has received requests to go fully smoke-free for a long time.

"We identified an opportunity to be responsive to recurring guest demand for a fully non-smoking casino resort on the Strip. With an expansive Las Vegas portfolio, MGM Resorts is able to offer an array of options for visitors, all within the MGM Resorts family," said Anton Nikodemus, President of MGM Resorts Las Vegas.

"During this time we've been able to really prepare the property for a smoke-free resort experience."

There are other smoke-free standalone hotels across Sin City but this is the first resort with a gaming floor.

The resort reopens with other Covid-19 safety measures in place, like social distancing, enhanced cleaning in public areas and guest rooms and contactless check-in.

Due to restrictions on large gatherings, the 5,000 seat Park Theater remains closed.

"Opening Park MGM and NoMad represent significant milestones, as they are the last of our properties to welcome back employees and guests. The last six months have presented extraordinary challenges," said Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resorts CEO.
