Jet2holidays confirms more cancellations

Jet2holidays has extended the suspension of its Canary Islands programme up to 17 October , its mainland Spain and Algarve holidays are suspended until 31 October and holidays to the Balearics have been cancelled up to 30 November.

The operator has also scrapped the rest of its summer holidays to Croatia and the Greek islands of Zante and Crete.

It has axed its Iceland programme until February 2021.

"We're obviously very disappointed to be making this announcement, as we know how much our customers look forward to their well-deserved holidays in these fantastic destinations," it said in a message on its website.

For bookings to Spain, the Canary Islands and Portugal later this year, Jet2holidays said it was 'continuing to monitor the situation very closely'. It will provide a further update once it receives further information from the government, it said.

"We once again urge the government to implement a targeted approach to travel advice, instead of the current blanket ban approach," it added.

"We understand how hard customers work and save for their well-deserved holidays and we'd like to thank them for their continued patience and understanding.

"In good news, we're pleased to say that we've got hundreds of additional flights to Turkey and other destinations in Greece, to give customers more choice when it comes to booking or rebooking their Summer 20 holidays."
