Caribbean Public Health Agency launching travel health app

The Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) is launching two new initiatives to help mitigate the risks of Covid-19 across the region.


It is launching the Caribbean Traveler's Health Mobile App, which has been developed for travelers and tourism operators.


It provides travel health information by each Caribbean destination such as future vaccination and other travel health requirements, health care facilities, and accommodations listings compliant with the new Caribbean Travelers Health Assurance stamp.


The Caribbean Travelers Health Assurance stamp for Healthier Safer Tourism is a designation for tourism operators and destinations that meet recommended proactive Covid-19 health monitoring and safety measures.


It has been officially approved by the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association.


"Caribbean travelers now have the added assurance of a healthier, safer option for accommodations and services awarded the HST stamp," said Dr. Joy St. John, CARPHA's Executive Director.


As well as the stamp and the app, CARPHA has implemented an early warning and response information system to help capture infection data in real time to help reduce the spread of Covid-19.
