AirAsia X refunds on hold due to debt restructuring

AirAsia X's current restructuring plan has put a brake on customers getting refunds or credit notes for cancelled flights.

Requests for refunds will not be processed until its debt restructuring plan gets court approval.

That could be some time yet.

It also applies to the issuance of credit notes and also flight changes, according to an email sent to impacted customers.

"AirAsia X Berhad is unable to provide any refunds, credit accounts or move flights until the scheme creditors have approved and the High Court of Kuala Lumpur has sanctioned the proposed debt restructuring," it said in a message on the AirAsia X support site.

It also affects Unlimited Pass holders.

The airline says it hopes to be 'back in business' as soon as possible when it will then be able to 'extend travel benefits.'
