American Airlines adds more destinations to Covid testing program

American Airlines is expanding its preflight testing program to more destinations across the Caribbean and Latin America.


In November, testing will be available for all flights to Belize, Grenada and St. Lucia, as well as the Hawaiian Islands.


American says it offers more testing options than any other US carrier.


The Hawaii program is expanded thanks to a partnership with home testing company LetsGetChecked.





It is applicable for all flights from Chicago, Phoenix and Los Angeles to Hawaii.


Testing must be within 72 hours of travel.


"Our initial preflight testing has performed remarkably well, including terrific customer feedback about the ease and availability of testing options," said Robert Isom, President of American Airlines.


Starting 16 November, American further expands its partnership with LetsGetChecked for home PCR testing for customers going to Belize, Grenada and St. Lucia.


Each destination has its own specific entry requirements, with Belize-bound travelers requiring a negative test result within 72 hours of departure.


Travelers to Grenada and St. Lucia must be tested within seven days of departure


American serves all three destinations from Miami and is launching flights from Chicago to St. Lucia later this month.


The LetsGetChecked service includes at-home testing which is observed virtually  by a medical professional.
