Bahamas mega resort Baha Mar has outlined its phased reopening plans.
It will reopen from 17 December with guests welcomed back to Grand Hyatt Baha Mar with occupancy restricted to 60%.
The resort will have enhanced safety and health measures in place, and guests are required to take a rapid Covid-19 test on arrival at the Nassau resort.
'The Baha Mar Commitment to Wellbeing' program covers enhanced housekeeping, upgraded food safety, digital ordering and touch-less payments.
The Rosewood and SLS hotels are set to reopen in February 2021 and Baha Mar Casino will reopen with special Covid-19 protocols in place.
"Our goal will be February. That could change, but that's the goal for us. We feel very confident in our safety protocols," Baha Mar President, Graeme Davis told news outlet Tribune Business.
"It's an opportune time to open. The US elections are hopefully going to settle down soon, and it certainly catches the festive season. But, most importantly, it's that time when people are thinking about their winter break; thinking of February, and their children's Spring Break."
Davis said Baha Mar will be able to re-hire some of more than 1,000 employees it terminated during the summer due to the long closure.
