Six Senses unveils first resort in the Americas

Six Senses will launch its first resort in the Americas next year.

Six Senses Botanique will open in 2021 in Mantiqueira, Brazil, about 2.5 hours from Sao Paulo.

It is an update of the hotel formerly known as Botanique Hotel & Spa, and will feature seven suites in the main hotel, and 13 private villas.

There are also plans to construct an additional 14 new villas using modular building techniques.

It will house the signature Six Senses Spa, with eight treatment rooms and a floatation pool, a bar, pool, kids' club and Earth Lab sustainability center.

The resort will house 37 branded residences, which will be available for purchase off-plan.

"Six Senses Botanique will appeal to guests seeking an eco-retreat in nature along with authentic Brazilian design, culture and cuisine," said Six Senses CEO Neil Jacobs.

"We're also putting together a program of rituals, workshops and festivals, offering time out to focus on living at ease with oneself and others."

Fitness programming and activities offered to guests will range from capoeira classes to hiking and horse riding.

Six Senses Botanique is located 3,940 feet (1,200 meters) above sea level in the heart of the Mantiqueira Mountains.
