Operators pin hopes on Black Friday

Operators are hoping their week-long Black Friday promotions will entice the UK public to book a getaway.

Black Friday officially takes place at the end of this week, November 27, but many operators are starting promotions today or tomorrow and running them until next Monday.

They include TUI, which has launched 'seven days of deals' across TUI, Marella Cruises and TUI River Cruise from today until 30 November.

Offers include £300 off all summer 2021 Marella cruises and £250 off a TUI holiday over £3,000.

Virgin Atlantic described its Black Friday sale as its 'best ever', with economy flights starting at £239 and Premium from £599 and Upper Class from £999.

Its Black Friday deals start today (Monday) and tie in with the airline's new St Vincent and the Grenadines flights, which launch tomorrow, starting at £349.

Flying Club members can get 50% off reward seats across the Virgin Atlantic network.

Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic said: "This year has been incredibly tough on everyone and at Virgin Atlantic, we've really missed seeing our customers onboard.

"With England's second lockdown coming to an end, it is the perfect time for Brits to plan their next holiday. This year's Black Friday sale is our most generous ever."

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines unveiled savings on selected 2021 cruises as part of its week-long Black Friday sale, offering up to £700 off bookings made between 23 and 30 November.

The sale features 12 cruises, including a selection aboard Fred. Olsen's newest additions to the fleet, Bolette and Borealis, with sailings ranging from short European city breaks, sunshine escapes and bucket list experiences.

Jackie Martin, Sales and Marketing Director at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said: "2020 has left us all dreaming of our holidays, and we can't wait to get our ships back in service next spring.

"Black Friday has become such a popular event in the UK, and it is a great opportunity for us to be able to showcase some of our 2021 cruises while offering our guests the chance to make some great savings."

Princess Cruises' Black Friday sale starts tomorrow until 30 November, with peak season sailings from £699 per person.

Vice President Tony Roberts said: "We are delighted to once again offer our guests great value through our Black Friday deals, with a week's holiday from the UK in peak season available for less than £2,000 for a family of four."

Emerald Waterways has savings of up to £1,000 per couple, a free Premium Drinks Package, €150 per cabin to spend on board, plus an extra 10 per cent discount if paid in full 12 months prior to departure.

Sovereign has savings on 2021 holidays, including £3,219 per couple off a seven-night package at the Carlisle Bay, Antigua, while Citalia has £850 per couple off seven nights in Sorrento.

British Airways has not yet released Black Friday deals, while Jet2 told the Express is not planning to take part in Black Friday.
