Travel 'will take five years to recover to pre-Covid levels'


Travel will begin to pick up in 2021 but the sector is not expected to fully recover from the impact of coronavirus before 2025, according to a study of global tourism industry research company Phocuswright.

It said the recovery will be slow but gradual, even with the release of multiple vaccines next year. Part of the reason, it said, was the time it will take for airlines, hotels and tour operators to get their services up and running.

But it also said consumers were 'relatively resistant' to travel.
