Princess and Holland America cancel more voyages

Princess Cruises and Holland America have further suspended their cruising programmes as coronavirus continues to wreak havoc.

Princess has cancelled all voyages until 14 May with sister brand Holland America confirming no ship will sail until at least 30 April.

This includes sailings in the Caribbean, the California Coast, along with early season Alaska and Europe cruises.

Guests booked on cancelled Princess voyages will have the option to receive a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC) equivalent to 100% of the cruise fare paid plus an additional non-refundable bonus FCC equal to 25% of the cruise fare paid.

Credits can be used on any cruises booked by 1 May 2022 and sailing by 31 December 2022. Consumers wanting a refund must request one 15 February 2021 or guests will be registered for the Future Cruise Credit option.

"We appreciate the patience from our loyal guests and travel agents as we work to meet the health and safety requirements for our return to service," said Princess Cruises president Jan Swartz.

"We continue to prepare our ships for our return to service and we are eager to see our guests back onboard to create summertime memories."

Princess Cruises previously paused global guest cruise holidays and cancelled all departures on all ships until 31 March 2021

Holland America meanwhile has cancelled all Mexican Riviera, Pacific Coast, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Canada/New England departures until the end of April.

Alaskan cruises meanwhile will be cancelled until mid-May, with departures on three ships - Eurodam, Oosterdam and Zuiderdam - cancelled until early June.

Mediterranean cruises on Volendam and Westerdam will also be cancelled until early June, while Canada/New England itineraries on Zaandam have been suspended until August.

Passengers who have paid in full will receive a cruise credit worth 125% of the fare paid while those who have paid a deposit will receive double the deposit paid.

As with Princess, customers wanting a refund must apply online no later than 15 February.
