Covid Travel Pass 'ready within weeks'


A digital global Covid Travel Pass will be ready to roll out within weeks, says the international airline body IATA.

The pass, which will be tested first by Qatar Airways, will store passengers' test and vaccination records.

While the idea of a 'vaccination passport' is being resisted by some, others welcome the move as a way of reopening international travel.

Travel insurance broker AllClear says a recent poll of 3,000 of its customers found 88% believed they should be mandatory.

    A passport proving somebody has had the vaccine would kickstart travel and the economy. Eventually I believe it will be the norm for even entering a restaurant.
