British Airways is the latest airline to roll out dining experiences on terra firma. It is offering first class dining at home in partnership with Feast Boxand DO & CO. Meal kits include a four-course menu inflight-inspired meals costing £80 for two.
Sample dishes include smoked salmon timbale with honey mustard dressing and slow-cooked British beef cheeks with Jalapeno potato gratin. It can be ordered online for home delivery.
Carriers in Asia have embraced the concept and pocketed much needed revenue from selling 'in-flight' meals either at home, on grounded jets at the airport, or even opening their own branded pop-up restaurants. This includes ANA, AirAsia, Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines.
