Travel job vacancies more than double in March

The latest data from C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment shows the number of new travel jobs available more than doubled in March.

Last month's total was by far the highest since the pandemic's first impact in March 2020 and continues growth in the number of new travel vacancies created for five months in a row.

March's figure was down year-on-year by a relatively moderate 18%, which was well below the average year-on-year fall of 91% over the past 12 months.

However, compared to March 2019, last month's number of new travel vacancies was still down by 74%, indicating that the industry still has a long way to go before a full ecovery.

Candidate numbers held relatively steady in March with a small 2% dip from February.

C&M Travel Recruitment data pointed to a very positive month for placements, with more candidates placed in new travel jobs in March than at any point since the beginning of the pandemic.

Barbara Kolosinska, Director at C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, said: "The short-term outlook for the UK's travel industry remains unclear."

"However, we have now had five consecutive months of increasing travel vacancies which indicates that things are gradually picking up, forward bookings are being made, and travel companies are now looking to take on new talent to cope with the increased demand."
