Leger Shearings Group beefs up operations team

Leger Shearings Group has reinforced its operations leadership team with two key appointments

It announced Tom Ainsworth as Logistics Manager and Martin Guy as Interchange Manager.

Both come with significant experience in the escorted coach holiday sector, and both were formerly employed by Shearings, when it was part of the Specialist Leisure Group.

Leger Holidays acquired the Shearings brand in June 2020 and the Leger Shearings Group was formed in January 2021 to encompass both brands.

Tom Ainsworth brings more than 20 years' experience in passenger transport organisations, following a degree in transport from Plymouth University.

He held the role of European transport manager for eight years at Shearings, under Specialist Leisure Group.

At Leger Shearings Group Tom will be responsible for route development and scheduling the fleet of coaches operated for both the Leger Holidays and Shearings brands.

Martin Guy has 30 years' experience and has previously held roles at coach holiday operators Shearings and Wallace Arnold.

He spent 15 years as Shearings' Regional General Manager, North.

In the new role he will be responsible for managing the customer experience at interchange points, where coaches convene, with customers arriving by coach from their local pick-up point to change onto the coach allocated for their specific tour.

Tom and Martin will both report to Operations Director Chris Plummer.

"We have leapt straight from lockdown to a boom in staycations, with unprecedented demand for UK escorted coach holidays and we are rapidly increasing the number of tours to meet this demand.  As a consequence, we are recruiting and expanding many areas of the company and I'm delighted to welcome Tom and Martin to the operations team."
