Cyprus to allow in vaccinated travellers from 65 countries

Cyprus confirmed it will lay out the welcome mat for vaccinated travellers from 65 countries.

From 10 May, visitors will be allowed quarantine-free entry without needing a negative Covid test, Tourism Minister Savvas Perdios said.

This is despite Cyprus going into a two-week lockdown earlier this week, following a spike in Covid cases.

It will accept tourists who are fully vaccinated, regardless of when they took the final jab, as it looks to revive a flagging tourism industry this summer.

Cyprus had already agreed to permit British travellers and those from Israel due to the progress of their respective vaccination drives.

The UK is Cyprus' top source market with nearly four million arrivals in 2019.

The 65 countries include Canada, the US, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.

Residents of all EU member states are also permitted.
