Norwegian completes business restructuring

Norwegian says it has completed its business reconstruction processes that began in November 2020.

Having achieved these milestones, the company can now look ahead to the future again with a stronger balance sheet, a more efficient aircraft fleet and a simplified structure, it says.

"Today, a Norwegian airline with a long history and a large employee base has been saved. This marks a new beginning for Norwegian," said Jacob Schram, CEO of Norwegian.

After six months' work of reconstruction in both Ireland and Norway, Norwegian says it is now a more competitive and financially robust business.

"We have been completely dependent on the support of existing and former employees, business partners and shareholders, creditors and not least customers. We will continue to be there for our customers by providing a good service and a robust route network in Norway and in Europe." Schram added.
