Russia bans some EU flights in Belarus fallout

The fallout from the Belarus 'hijacking' of a Ryanair flight is causing a standoff between the EU and Russia.  Two flights to Moscow were scrapped as Russian authorities would not give permission for routes to be changed to bypass Belarus.

It led to the cancellation of Air France and Austrian flights. The EU air safety regulator advised airlines to avoid Belarus airspace after the jet was forcibly diverted to Belarus where an anti-government journalist was removed from the flight and detained.
