Heathrow and Birmingham to handle direct red list flights

Passenger flights to England from red list countries will be allowed at dedicated terminals at London Heathrow and Birmingham airports.

Arrivals from a red list destination such as Turkey, need to provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test and must stay in mandatory hotel quarantine at their own cost.

There are only a few routes which are direct from red list countries.

There are 50 nations on the red list.

The government said it is adding Egypt, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago and Bahrain among others to its red list, while Portugal was downgraded to amber.
