Air Transat resumes flights to the UK

Air has resumed transatlantic flights between the UK and Canada.

After several months of inactivity due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, the airline restarted London Gatwick to Toronto flights.

Air Transat will initially be flying three times weekly from London Gatwick to Toronto, allowing connections to other major Canadian cities.

In response to strong demand, the airline also announced it would be resuming its flights from Manchester to Toronto on 20 October, earlier than originally planned.

Direct flights from Glasgow to Toronto are set to resume on 16 December.

"Now that Canada has opened its borders to fully vaccinated foreign nationals, we are thrilled to finally welcome back travellers from the UK," said Annick Guérard, President and CEO of Transat.

"In preparation for our return to the skies, our teams have been working hard to ensure the safety of travellers and facilitate their planning by continuously adjusting our Traveller Care health and safety program."

Air Transat will use brand new Airbus A321neoLR jets on the route
