EasyJet holidays arrives in Egypt

EasyJet has touched down in Egypt, welcoming its first easyJet holidays customers with the launch of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada  packages.

It is the first UK holiday provider to take customers back to Egypt, and had originally planned to start in winter 2020, but that had to be delayed due to the pandemic.

Dean Thomas, easyJet holidays' Head of Customer Operations said: "We announced our Egypt holidays a long time ago and we're really excited to be here greeting our first customers."

"We've had a fantastic response already from the customers we met and we're seeing and hearing the excitement of others who are travelling."

The country was recently removed from the UK red list.

Tourism and Antiquities Minister Khaled El-Anany met with the British Ambassador to Egypt last month to discuss enhanced cooperation to help boost the number of tourists from the UK.
