Earthquake strikes Crete

The island of Crete was rattled by another strong earthquake, with a 6.4-magnitude. Buildings were damaged and thousands fled their homes but no injuries have been reported. It initially  sparked a tsunami warning.

The church of Agios Nikolaos, in the village of Xerokampos was destroyed. The epicentre was near Crete's eastern village of Palekastro. Several aftershocks have been reported in the past few hours. There were also reports of rockslides across the island.
