PLUS: last few days to enter – nominations close 22 May

The British Travel Awards has confirmed that the winners of the 2021/22 Awards will be announced at a magnificent Gala event, on Wednesday 29th November 2022. Online booking to attend the entertainment packed evening is now open.

BTA director of events and partnerships Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “After a two -year absence we are back at London’s Battersea Evolution on 29th November. The event will be bigger and better than ever to celebrate the resilience and fortitude of our great leisure travel industry and we’ll be accrediting those companies, who have been recognised by the holiday buying public, as the best at their business.

“Travel companies that want to be considered for a 2022 Award need to get their skates on as registrations close on 22 May. Consumer voting will commence on 4th July.”

Nominations have been flooding in and for some Awards the competition will be very intense. There are some categories, however, that need more entries, including luxury, boutique and no fly cruise and some of the specialist categories, such as LGBT+, Assisted / Accessible and Culture / Arts / History.

Ms Barnes Burton continued: “This year we have really opened up the categories to allow smaller specialist companies to get involved  – once they’re registered they will be sent the BTA nominee logo to add to their collateral and with the right lobbying and happy customers to vote, maybe even the British Travel Awards’ winner logo to use in their marketing arsenal!”

Consumer voting will be open from 4th July until 2 October 2022. Before voting commences registered companies will be sent a “click to vote” logo, with link to their unique direct voting app to encourage votes.

Consumer voting will again be promoted via the BTA database and in conjunction with consumer media partner Reach PLC, across their national, regional and digital platforms
