Renowned British artist, Bruce Munro, creator of the acclaimed Field of Light installation, has celebrated 10 years of the iconic artwork and released new imagery in partnership with AAT Kings.
The evocative imagery is available for agents in the A-Listers agent hub, to help bring the destination and installation to life for potential customers.
To celebrate the anniversary, CEO, Ben Hall talked to Munro about the inspiration behind one of Australia’s most remarkable immersive art experiences, and one of the most popular AAT Kings day tours in the Northern Territory.
Munro studied painting and sculpture in the UK before moving to Australia, where during a trip across the country, he came across Uluṟu’s vast desert landscape and powerful natural environment – which inspired a new creative direction.
“The experience I had in Uluṟu was so strong and powerful in terms of connecting me to the world around me, but it also made me feel part of something very big. I thought to myself – that’s what art is about. Field of Light really is an expression of the joy that I found in that amazing place. It’s about being at one with the world and feeling very excited about it,” said Munro.
Field of Light draws visitors from around the world to experience the desert illuminated by over 50,000 glowing stems. AAT Kings offers the exclusive opportunity to witness Field of Light at sunrise, an add-on day tour experience that is consistently popular with UK guests.
“In the morning you have this incredible opportunity to see the light coming behind it; to witness the installation as the first light of dawn appears over Uluṟu” continued Munro.
During its ten years (31st March 2016), Bruce’s Field of Light Installation has become a bucket list item for travellers visiting Uluṟu and is one of the most popular day tours with British guests.
Ben Hall, CEO of AAT Kings, said: “Through experiences like our Field of Light sunrise tour, AAT Kings continues to connect travellers with extraordinary moments in Australia’s natural and cultural landscapes; it’s no wonder that after 10 years this continues to be one of our most popular experiences. We’re proud that we’ve helped so many guests witness this remarkable experience – a moment that captures the magic of the landscape and Bruce’s extraordinary vision.”
