Amadeus River Cruises is inviting travellers to experience the Danube like never before, through the eyes of one of Austria’s most famous families. On an exclusive sailing through Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, guests will be joined by Elisabeth von Trapp, granddaughter of Captain and Maria von Trapp whose story inspired The Sound of Music.

 

The cruise from Passau to Budapest departs 24th July 2025 and visits Linz, Emmersdorf, Durnstein, Vienna, Bratislava and Esztergom. On a visit to Salzburg from Linz, the group will be met by Elisabeth von Trapp who will lead a private walking tour through the city’s charming streets and musical landmarks. As both a certified Austrian guide and an accomplished musician, she will bring a deeply personal perspective to this visit. Guests will also enjoy exclusive moments with Elisabeth onboard, from shared stories to musical memories, making this an intimate and unforgettable experience.

 

The cruise takes place onboard the 168-guest AMADEUS Imperial with prices from £2,246 per person based on two people sharing a cabin with panoramic window. Price includes all meals, wine and beer with lunch and dinner, onboard entertainment, use of bicycles for independent exploration, WiFi and port fees. Also included is a £300 flight credit and complimentary overseas transfers.
