Holland America Line launches 27/28 Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific season

  • Season to operate from September 2027 to March 2028
  • Itineraries range from 14 to 35 days, sailing on three ships
  • More than 100 wildlife-focused shore excursions available

 

Holland America Line has launched its 2027-2028 Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific season, operating from September 2027 through to March 2028.

 

Voyages range from 14 to 35 days in duration, visiting destinations such as Bora Bora and New Zealand’s Bay of Islands, with overnight stays available in Melbourne and Cairns, Australia; Lautoka, Fiji; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Papeete, Tahiti. In addition, ‘Legendary Voyages’ will offer extended journeys for longer exploration.

 

14 itineraries are included in the programme, operating on Westerdam, Zaandam and Koningsdam.

 

Highlights include:

* 26-day ‘Australia, Coral Sea & Fiji Legendary Voyage’, departing January 4, 2028. Sailing on Westerdam from Sydney, Australia, to Auckland, New Zealand, and calling at 14 ports throughout the region, including overnight stays in Cairns and Lautoka. Destinations include Vanuatu, Fiji and Tonga. Prices start from £5,039pp.

* 35-day ‘Hawaii, Tahiti & Marquesas Legendary Voyage’, departing October 14, 2027, on Zaandam or February 19, 2028, on Koningsdam. Sails roundtrip from San Diego, California, with Zandaam calling at 13 ports, including a late-night departure from Bora Bora and overnights in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Papeete, Tahiti. Koningsdam will visit 10 ports, featuring overnight calls in Honolulu; Raiatea and Moorea, French Polynesia; and a combined overnight and late-night departure in Papeete. Prices start from £6,079pp.

* 34-day ‘Legendary South Pacific Crossing’, departing September 19, 2027. Sailing on Westerdam from Seattle to Sydney. Calling at 14 ports, including an overnight stay in Honolulu and Papeete. Prices start from £5,939pp.

* 14-day ‘Australia & New Zealand’. Sailing on Westerdam between Sydney and Auckland. Guests can choose from seven departures. Ports of call include Melbourne and the New Zealand ports of Lyttleton (Christchurch), Picton, Tauranga, Napier, Wellington and Port Chalmers (Dunedin). Select itineraries include scenic cruising in Milford Sound. Prices start from £2,659pp.

* 14-day ‘New Zealand Discovery’, departing February 13, 2028. Sailing on Westerdam roundtrip from Sydney and calling at eight ports in New Zealand and scenic cruising in Milford Sound. Prices start from £3,009pp.

* 16-day ‘South Australia Discovery Holiday’, departing December 19, 2027. Sailing on Westerdam roundtrip from Sydney. Calling at nine ports in Australia, including late-night calls at Phillip Island and Hobart, as well as an overnight stay in Melbourne. Prices start from £3,539pp.

 

The programme features more than 100 shore excursions focused on wildlife and the natural world, in addition to visits to 13 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the lagoons of New Caledonia, Gondwana Rainforests of Australia and the Sydney Opera House.

 

Holland America Line’s Destination Dining programme will feature the authentic flavours of Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, with options such as savoury meat pies, pavlovas, fresh New Zealand green-lipped mussels, an assortment of tropical fruits and local mahi-mahi.

 

Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and revenue planning at Holland America Line, said: “Whether guests want to experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Milford Sound, the crystal-clear waters of Fiji and the South Pacific, or encounter the region’s iconic wildlife, we’ve designed this season to deliver the authentic experiences travellers are looking for. We’ve also added time for guests to linger longer with new overnight stays in Melbourne, Cairns and Lautoka, joining a growing list of ports in the region where we extend the experience beyond a single day.”

 

For a limited time, when guests book a 2027/2028 Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific cruise with the ‘Have It All Early Booking Bonus’, they will receive an Elite Beverage Package, shore excursion credit, up to three nights speciality dining, Premium Wi-Fi package, prepaid crew appreciation and up to US$300pp onboard credit.

 

Guests can also take advantage of Holland America Line’s Exclusive Mariner Society Early Booking Bonus. Mariner Society loyalty members can enjoy up to $400 onboard credit per stateroom. Guests must book these cruises by February 16, 2026, to receive the Exclusive Mariner Society Early Booking Bonus.
