LATAM Airlines inaugurates London – Lima route

Wednesday, Dec 06, 2023 0

LATAM Airlines will operate the route between the UK capital and Peru with five weekly frequencies on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. This is the first time a Peruvian crew has operated a flight between Peru and the UK. This represents a milestone in aviation in the Andean region.

Last Saturday, Heathrow Airport experienced a historic milestone with the inauguration of the direct route between London and Lima, in an event attended by the entire LATAM Airlines regional team and Ricardo Romero Talledo, Director at Trade Commission of Peru in the UK and Ireland.

“Today we finally see the desire to connect the UK and Peru become a reality with the inauguration of this direct route between London and Lima. We are aware of the enthusiasm this announcement has generated in both countries and this gives us great expectations for the future. Our hub in Lima connects 19 destinations within Peru and more than 30 international destinations. If we add to this incredible network within South America the 7 weekly frequencies between London and São Paulo, and the 5 frequencies of this route to Lima, LATAM Airlines is positioned as the best option for anyone who wants to travel to South America, whether they are business or leisure travellers,” said Davide Ioppolo, Regional Commercial Director Central and Southeast Europe, United Kingdom, Nordic Countries and South Africa of LATAM Airlines.

London-Lima

The London – Lima route will connect UK travellers to one of the most diverse and attractive countries in the Americas, where they will be able to enjoy its rich culture, gastronomy and nature. In addition, from Lima, passengers will be able to access LATAM’s extensive network of destinations in Peru and other countries in the region.

The flights will last approximately 12 hours and will be operated using LATAM Airlines’ efficient and safe fleet of Boeing 788 aircraft which, with a total capacity of 247 passengers (30 in the Premium Business cabin and 217 in Economy), will connect the two capitals five times a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The best network within South America

LATAM Airlines currently flies to 144 destinations in 24 countries, including the Falklands. From Europe, the airline offers more than 60 weekly frequencies. In Spain, it connects Barcelona with São Paulo and Madrid with Santiago de Chile, Lima and, from July 2024, also with Bogotá. There are two routes from the UK, from London to São Paulo and the recently launched London-Lima route. In the rest of Europe, Paris, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Milan and Rome connect with São Paulo, which also has a route from South Africa’s Johannesburg.
