Saint Lucia Is 14 Times The ‘World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination’

For a fourteenth time, and the fifth consecutive year since 2018, Saint Lucia boasts Her prominence as the ‘World’s Leading Honeymoon Destination’ having once again been bestowed the coveted title at the 29th Annual World Travel Awards (WTA) on November 11, 2022.

Saint Lucia’s unmatched romance offerings have placed Her above other contenders from honeymoon hotspots around the world, including Cartagena de Indias; Jamaica; Jordan; the Maldives; Maui, Hawaii, Mauritius; Oman; Paris, France, and Seychelles.

The World Travel Awards is the most prestigious and sought-after awards program in the global travel and tourism industry since 1993. It was established to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry, marking 2022 as the 29th anniversary of the World Travel Awards program.

Receiving the Award was Thaddeus M. Antoine, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority. “It is an honour for Saint Lucia to receive this prestigious award once again. We are constantly reimagining our strategy and globally positioning our Honeymoon and Romance offerings. Just weeks ago, we successfully hosted the Global Romance Summit which welcomed elite Travel Experts to immerse in the destination. Saint Lucia is filled with warm and friendly people, and we dedicate this award to their success, our authentic culture, and diverse community experiences”, he remarked.

Destination Partner, Ladera Resort retained the title of the World’s Leading Wedding Venue, having consecutively won the title since 2018.

Saint Lucia was earlier this year recognized by WTA as the Caribbean’s Leading Honeymoon, and Adventure Tourism Destination. Travvy Awards also recognized Saint Lucia as the Best Honeymoon Destination in the Caribbean. She also won Silver for Best Overall Destination in the Caribbean, Bermuda, and the Bahamas in Recommend’s 2022 Readers’ Choice Awards.
