Wendy Wu Tours, the UK’s number one group touring specialist to China, is poised and ready to resume group tours to China, for the first time in three years. With China’s embassy in the US advising that all categories of visas for tourists entering the country will be issued from Wednesday 15 March, news that this will also extend to UK tourists is highly imminent. Wendy Wu, founder of Wendy Wu Tours, said: “This is clearly a major milestone for tourism, and undoubtedly one of the most eagerly anticipated reopening’s for Asia tourism following the pandemic. We are in talks with the Chinese government and are very confident that a move to resume issuing visas to UK travellers is imminent.” Wu added: “As the UK’s number one specialist travel company to China from the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, and having been closely involved with China’s reopening, we will be the first to know more details on this and will of course announce the news accordingly.”

With demand for China touring at an all-time high, coupled with a backlog of tour departures from over three years, Wendy Wu Tours is preparing itself for one of the busiest times in its history. This month alone (March 2023) the operator received a staggering uptake of enquiries, up almost 135% up on the previous months of January and February 2023, with nearly 75% of these enquiries about travel to China.

Wu goes on to say: “Touring in China is going to be a whole new experience. The country has had three years without tourism to rejuvenate and refresh and so as we begin preparations to return with UK tourists, China is eagerly looking forward to welcoming visitors again, with a touring experience that promises to be as fresh and captivating, as one resembling 20 years ago.”
