Holland America Line ship Westerdam has returned to service following a two-week dry dock.
The Vista-class ship departed Singapore on January 18, 2026, for a 14-day Far East Discovery voyage, with a range of enhancements including an updated Crow’s Nest, new ocean view staterooms and a redesigned Effy Lounge.
The Crow’s Nest lounge now features a new bandstand stage designed for more intimate performances and events. The space received upgraded lighting and audio systems to host small-scale live music, lectures and speaking engagements, as well as new flooring.
In total, 11 additional ocean view staterooms were installed on decks one and seven. The refresh also consisted of new carpeting in all verandah staterooms on decks five through to 10, and in Neptune, Signature and Pinnacle suites.
Verandah staterooms on deck eight received full bathroom updates, with new mirrors, bathtubs, floors and walls. Approximately 300 other staterooms across the ship were fitted with new bathroom flooring and updated wallpaper.
The Effy Lounge – one of the ship’s popular retail spaces – has been redesigned with a new layout featuring lounge seating and private consultation areas.
Elsewhere, the ship’s Italian speciality restaurant, Canaletto, underwent a full interior refresh with new carpet and upholstery, while Lido Market now features updated seating and carpet. And the poolside burger and hot dog spot, Dive-In, also contains a new food order and pick-up counter.
In addition, the Atrium was modernised with new furniture, carpet and wall coverings, with updated carpet extending into the elevator lobbies, guest corridors and the Greenhouse Spa & Salon.
