Low-cost airline Primera Air is launching its new transatlantic routes from London Stansted with limited availability £99 one-way fares.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on March 22 for flights to Boston, Toronto and Washington.

The airline said there would be 99 tickets available for £99 on each of the four North American routes.

The flights from Stansted will be the first operated by Primera from the UK and the first transatlantic scheduled flights from the London hub for 10 years.

It is also planning to launch flights from Birmingham to New York on May 18, but it recently dropped plans for a Birmingham to Boston service and it has reduced its planned frequency on the Birmingham to Newark route.

Primera’s Stansted to Newark service will start on April 19, its Boston service is also due to launch on May 18, Toronto flights will follow on May 19 and Washington on August 22.

Primera has five different fares bands: Light, Comfort, Flex, Premium and Premium Flex. The £99 one-way fares are available on the ‘Light’ travel package, which includes 10kg of hand luggage but no check in bag.

The £99 fares will be valid for travel between April 19 and December 9.
