A bad choice of flight for air rage
An air passenger who turned nasty after having too much to drink was shocked to find his fellow passengers included a police rugby team who helped restrained him. According to the BBC News website, cabin crew on the Singapore Airlines flight to Christchurch called on the police team, who were en route to play a match against their counterparts in New Zealand, when the man became aggressive. One of the officers, David Jenkins, is quoted as saying: “It was about the worst flight for this guy to be on. Although there wasn’t much of him, it took three police officers to restrain him.” The website reports that the pilot considered touching down in Australia but after the police officers subdued the man and moved him to the back of the plane, he decided to carry on to Christchurch. He was met by local police shortly after the plane landed. Report by Tim Gillett, News From Abroad Ltd
