AA pilot’s recorded righteous rage
ABC News reports that the pilot of American Airlines Flight 24 from San Francisco, which was held by authorities on Monday after a phoned-in bomb threat, was recorded warning air traffic control that they had 60 seconds to tell him what was going on or he would evacuate the plane.
In response to his request for information, the controller tells the pilot that officials who sent out emergency vehicles to surround the plane were "on the phone" and could not respond.
The unidentified pilot’s says, "They need to get off the phone and give me information now!" He continues that if he doesn’t get a reason for the emergency vehicles he will evacuate the flight immediately.
Presumably, the ATC finally told him that the vehicles were being deployed because of an unidentified called in bomb threat against that flight and Finnair Flight 5.
ABC News reported that they felt the pilot’s enraged demand for information was justified: "It’s safe to say that most of the passengers on the plane and most people listening right now would probably want their pilot to do the exact same thing."
