ABTA sees rise in cries for help
ABTA saw a 30% increase this year in requests for advice from members on a range of topics, including debt reporting.
The Association’s annual accounts up to June 30, published online yesterday, show that 91% of all members had contacted its Member Services help facility throughout the previous 12 months.
In total, it handled 11,534 enquiries on a range of subjects, including advice on debt as well as other business matters.
57 new members joined ABTA throughout the year, during which total turnover by ABTA members increased 5% from £28.9 billion to £30.2 billion.
ABTA more than doubled its group post-tax profits to just over £1 million. Post-tax profits for the previous 12 month period were £402,253.
Its net assets, excluding pension liability, have risen from £32.3 million last year to £33.1m. However, pension liabilities have reduced its net assets to £30.5 million, down from £31.5 million last year.
The volume of business passing through the single payment scheme was £574 million.
"ABTA’s overall financial position remains healthy," it said.
