Abu Dhabi tourism hails new Disney theme park
The Department of Tourism Abu Dhabi has welcomed Walt Disney Co’s just announced plans to develop its first Middle East theme park at Yas Island.
It’s a landmark project that solidifies the Emirate’s position as a leading global tourism destination, it says.
The project represents a major investment in the region’s tourism infrastructure.
Abdulla Yousuf, Director of Travel Trade and Markets Development at DCT, says “The arrival of Disney on Yas Island signals the strength of our Tourism Strategy 2030 in action.
“By bringing world-renowned brands like Disney to Yas Island, we are enriching our destination with best-in-class experiences.”
Disney is teaming up with Miral which will develop and build the theme park resort.
It will join other Miral developed resorts and attractions on Yas Island, which is Abu Dhabi’s main entertainment and amusement park hub.
The new Disney theme park will be situated right on the waterfront and become its most technologically advanced park.
