Aeroflot resumes Maldives flights
Russian national carrier Aeroflot has restarted flights to the Maldives. It is operating daily to Velena International Airport from Moscow on Airbus A330 aircraft with a seating capacity of 300.
Travel firms said about 80% of seat capacity was booked on Sunday’s first flight. Aeroflot halted operations to the Maldives on March 8 as a result of the Russia – Ukraine conflict.
Russia is a top source market for the Maldives but has sharply declined since the Ukraine invasion.
