Aerolineas Argentinas is set to become the first South American carrier to join the SkyTeam alliance.
The Argentinian flag carrier begins the procedure necessary to join at the end of October and will complete it next year.
Aerolineas says the move was in line with its restructuring plan which is focusing on establishing the brand as a larger player in the South American market.
