African specialist ceases trading
Luxury travel specialist Different Tracks has ceased trading.
The Buckinghamshire-based company T D Europe, which traded as Different Tracks, sold packages, honeymoons and flight-only trips to Africa and the Indian Ocean islands.
The website said it was a ‘different’ kind of travel company – not about ‘opulent hotels with gold plated taps, 24 hour room service or endless TV channels’.
It said it made ‘genuine recommendations, focusing on small, exclusive lodges, hotels and camps, many of which are off the beaten track’.
The CAA said it did not think any clients were abroad and that a ‘handful’ of forward bookings were affected.
It directed customers to their ATOL certificates which would identify whether the booking was ‘Package sale’, ‘Flight-Only sale’ and ‘Flight-Plus sale’.
It added some bookings affected by the failure of T D Europe Ltd may have taken place prior to this time; in which case customers would not have received an ATOL Certificate and should contact the CAA with their paperwork.
