Agents confused by mixed messages
Independent agents have vented frustration over not knowing what was happening at On Holiday Group over the last few days.
Agents posted on Facebook saying they were unsure whether clients booked via OHG’s Holiday Brokers and partner site Euro Rooms Direct should be rebooked with other bedbanks, or whether it was safe to carry on making bookings.
OHG Accommodation and its team are popular among the agent community and many independents expressed sadness the company has gone into administration.
Rumours began circulating earlier this week that the company may be in trouble. They were quickly dismissed as false, only to resurface later in the week.
Yesterday afternoon a temporary message on the site said OHG had ceased trading. Shortly after, however, the message on the Holiday Brokers site and that of its partner company Euro Rooms Direct had changed to: "SITE OFFLINE. The site is currently offline for technical maintenance, and should be back shortly. Please try again later, we apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Within minutes, the sites were up and running again.
However, OHG Accommodation announced this morning it has gone into administration.
