Agents offered real time cruise information
Worldspan introduced Worldspan Cruise, a new Web-based booking solution providing real time access to cruise line information and complete reservations capabilities. “This highly effective cruise booking solution provides a wider than ever array of search functionality, making it the agent‘s number one source for cruise reservations,” said Mike Parks, senior vice president and general manager, Worldwide Travel Distribution, Worldspan. Available via the Worldspan Go! (R) Resource Center, Worldspan Cruise puts more information and stronger functionality at the agent’s fingertips, including pricing, negotiated rates, cruise itinerary, cabin and deck plans, posting of payments and automated PNR, according to Worldspan. With Worldspan Cruise, agents can use more powerful search options and will soon have an Advanced User Mode for one-step quick selling without having to call the cruise line. To implement Worldspan Cruise, Worldspan has partnered with icruise.com, whose Intellicruise (R) booking technology delivers not only real time booking capability, but also an easy-to-use and efficient user interface. Launch participants in Worldspan Cruise are Carnival Cruise Lines, Costa Cruises, Holland America and Windstar Cruises. Additional are expected to be announced next year. The system is now available to Worldspan customers throughout the US and Canada. Future distribution is planned for Europe, Mexico, Asia and other areas.
